TORBAL takes pride in offering excellent pill counters at a wide range of prices. Whether you are using a DRX-4C or a DRX-5s series tablet counter, you can rely upon pill counting that is always fast, safe, and accurate.
| Pill counting is performed in three easy and quick steps. The first step is to tare the vial into which the pills are poured, a task quickly performed by a single press of the tare key. |
Once the vial is tarred, the second step is to scan the NDC Barcode located on the supply bottle. Our pill counting scales are furnished with a high performance laser barcode scanner to guarantee that the scan is always accurate and on target. Scanning of the barcode recalls the appropriate drug information required for your count. Once the barcode is scanned, you can pour the pills into the vial to perform the count. |
| Adding new drugs to the database is also very quick and easy. A short step is added which allows the counter to establish an accurate average piece weight of the drug and store it in the memory. If drug data cannot be recalled after performing the scan, the unit will ask that you simply count out a sample of ten pills and weigh it in order to establish an APW. Once the drug data has been stored in the memory you can continue with your count. |
Pill counting in the DRX-5s series offers additional features such as onscreen instructions, drug name labeling, lot number labeling, NDC data entry reminder and many more. The DRX-5 series scales guide the user through the short and fast pill counting steps. Having onscreen instructions displayed makes this unit extra intuitive and ready-to-use essentially “out of the box.” Each drug can be labeled with a name and a lot number. The unit can be also configured to post reminders about updating drug information, thus preventing dispensing errors.
